Richard Rorty and Pragmatism

Rorty died in 2007 and remains one of the most influential of recent American philosophers whose early work Philosophy and the Mirror of Nature remains a favourite of mine. Here is a link to a special issue of New Literary History a few years back on Rorty. Here is the Stanford Encyclopaedia of Philosophy entry on him. The real contribution of Rorty was part of the whole literary turn within philosophy, moving beyond the analytic tradition and sounding the death knell of traditional analytic philosophy.
