Stanford Encyclopaedia of Philosophy
The SEP is an outstanding free online resource with entries written by true specialists and peer-reviewed. What is especially encouraging is to see the many new articles commissioned and available on Arab and Islamic philosophy and philosophers. Peter Adamson's entry on al-Kindi and Frank Griffel's on Ghazali are excellent examples of this new tendency. Jon McGinnis' masterly introduction to 'natural philosophy' provides a context for understanding the metaphysical and cosmological speculations of Avicenna and others. My own entry on Mulla Sadra will appear in the new year.
